Alabama Prostart

​ProStart® is a career and technical education program that unites the foodservice industry and the classroom to teach high school students culinary skills and restaurant management principles, as well as employability skills such as communication, teamwork, professionalism and time management.

​ProStart® is a nationwide program for high school students that develops their talent into tomorrow’s restaurant and foodservice industry leaders. The Alabama Restaurant & Hospitality Association Foundation (ARHAF) hosts an annual competition for Alabama ProStart students to showcase their culinary talents and creativity. 

Alabama ProStart Student Invitational
The Westin Huntsville  |  May 2-3, 2021
In May, students representing their high school’s ProStart® program will participate in culinary and management competitions at the 2021 Alabama ProStart Student Invitational. This annual event allows the students to showcase their skills learned in the classroom and  is made possible through the support of our industry. 

There are many ways to help and remember that all sponsorship donations are tax-deductible. To learn more about sponsorship, click here.

Over 50 people are needed to staff a ProStart competition! If you would like to volunteer on the day of the competition, we would love your help. We also need judges with backgrounds in culinary, restaurant management, and marketing.
